The Path to Redemption

The Path to Redemption

1. Renunciation

The first step is to relinquish dwelling on a wish or hope as rabbi Steve Leder once told, for a better past. The unconscious mind resists the flow of life by wishful thinking and projecting on other people and outer conditions the effects that it produced by creating the world, that instead of taking responsibility for, is trying to blame and guilt trip it. The unconscious mind is in fact resisting coming to light and allowing healing to take place and by thus doing it exhausts energy that could otherwise be used for appropriate action to deal with what is. That is because that is and that is not because that is not. That's a way to explain the gist of Heart Sutra as taught by Thich Nhat Hanh. The world is the way it is because of the choices I make. And the world is not otherwise because the choices I have not made. Whatever life offers Now is the best possible outcome based on every choice and every decision ever. That is grace, an intrinsic quality of Life. Knowing this, the only appropriate response is gratefulness. And being grateful and appreciative of what life has to offer brings up abundance consciousness in which there is infinite peace, love, joy, beauty, creativity, intelligence, inspiration, compassion and wisdom. The following lines from a Course in Miracles sums it up: "Every decision I make is a choice between a grievance and a miracle. I relinquish all regrets, grievances and resentments, and choose the miracle."

2. Prayer

Prayer is as I learned from rabbi Steve Leder to count the blessings. As Meister Eckhart said if the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is Thank you that would be enough. Abundance consciousness brings prayer as in counting the blessings and being grateful and appreciative for what is which in turn makes grateful and appreciative. That's what Bhakti or devotion is when I see I am everything.

3. Education

Education is remembering the innate goodness of the human nature which essentially can be summed up as either the 5 Mindfulness trainings from Buddhism or the 10 Laws of Moses. These are the Yamas and Niyamas of any spiritual practice.

4. Healing

Healing starts with each conscious choice I make. Health as OSHO said is not just the absence of illness. Reclaiming well-being as our natural state involves a change of mind by choosing again and again consciousness and aware Presence. That's how the healing starts from a teaching given by Tenzin Khedrup Jigme Namgyal from notes I written which I share here: "4 Oponent forces 1. Heartfelt regret, repentance 2. Determination of not repeating it 3. One pointed faith in the three jewels and heartfelt Compassion 4. Method - and diligently apply it in practice See the sentient beings as Buddhas See the challenging human beings as Gurus that can teach us."

5. Bodhicitta

Renunciation, prayerfulness as being grateful and appreciative for life and conscious choice making bring on that quality of consciousness where I and life are One. Seeing life as One Being, many forms is what makes compassion possible. Empathy and affection fuel heartfelt compassion and wisdom keeps us from burnout and gives us hope and compassion for where we are at. Everyone does the best they can from their level of consciousness and so do I. Cultivating heartfelt compassion can be done with metta (friendliness). May I be filled with loving kindness. May I feel protected and safe. May I have love and compassion towards myself. May I live with ease. May you be filled with loving kindness. May you feel protected and safe. May you have love and compassion towards yourself. May you live with ease. May all be filled with loving kindness. May all feel protected and safe. May all have love and compassion towards themselves. May all live with ease.

6. Method

The method stands on two pillars: intention which is heartfelt compassion for all beings and offering the merits. Here is a practice based on teachings from Ram Dass, Nawang Khechog, Dalai Lama, Desmond Tutu and Tenzin Khedrup Jigme Namgyal Cultivating compassion and opening our spiritual heart. This moment is love. I am infinite. I am loving-awareness. (Ram Dass) Metta May all be kind to each other. (Nawang Khechog, Dalai Lama, Desmond Tutu) Offering May all who are afflicted like this share in the merits of this good deed. (Ram Dass)

7. Living life

Here is a 5 step process I learned from Anoop Kumar and Deepak Chopra 1. Stretch 2. Reflect on the day that passed: what you enjoyed what you would let go of. 3. Breathe consciously. 4. Notice areas of tension or pleasant sensations or areas where there is no sensation. Move back and forth. 5. Be

8. Words and insights

Words are meant to point to insights. What is to be aware is the insight to which the words point to. By its very nature language is dualistic and conveying insights is not to make the mind get identified with the words.
